Short Meaning
Oh Lord Subrahmanya, you roamed across river banks with fresh springs and fresh millet plants to Grace Mother Valli - I will never forget your spear of Light which dispels the darkness of Karma! Will you let me get lost in the family life (and forget my supreme goal of uniting with you)?
Gloss
This theme of getting lost in family life and in lust is a theme that is repeated too often in Kandhar Anubhuti and I have discussed in detail in many verses earlier. So, I am not going to delve on this further.
In this verse, Sri Arunagiri Nathar, wants to call out the nature of Lord Murugan's Spear - In this verse he addresses it as 'kathir vel' meaning a spear of light. Light destroys darkness / spear cuts through obstacles thus leading the devotee to enlightenment.
He interesting describes Lord Murugan as one who roamed about in fresh springs, river banks with fresh millet plants behind Mother Valli
